SBS' media account is out to pitch with seven agencies vying for the $8 million business, according to industry insiders.
Long-time incumbent Zenith, part of Publicis Groupe, is up against a string of other major agencies.
Zenith handles the broadcaster’s media strategy, planning and buying account.
SBS declined to comment on which agencies are in the pitch.
Jane Palfreyman, SBS director of marketing: “SBS can confirm it is conducting a limited RFP for its media buying account.
"We have been very happy with Zenith for the past eight years but as a public broadcaster it is incumbent on us every few years to assess the capabilities of the market."
SBS in 2021 expanded its relationship with Zenith.
