Val Morgan Outdoor (VMO) is buying the IGNITE arm of The Media Shop (TMS) on July 1, according to industry sources.

The network is made up of 500 digital panels at the entry of Coles Express Stores nationally.

The sources said The Media Shop made three of its four sales team redundant last week, with only the head of sales, Angelo Poli, reported to still be with the business.

AdNews understands that only the Coles Express contract that The Media Shop operates through the IGNITE network of its portfolio is being sold, with other parts of the privately-owned out-of-home business remaining with TMS.

VMO already owns an on-the-go outdoor TV network that operates in key locations in more than 600 premium petrol stations and convenience stores. This network of digital screens at BP Petrol Stations was started by TMS CEO Ronnie Navani and acquired by VMO in 2015.

Val Morgan Outdoor declined to comment.

TMS currently has access to digital billboards; 640 IGA stores with its point of sale retail network; a mobile outdoor network that includes mobile billboards, truck advertising, branded rickshaws, bike and scooter advertising and walking boards; solar-powered digital trailers; and street media, such as murals, decals and traffic buzzers.
