QLD Youngbloods, the Queensland youth arm of the Advertising Council of Australia, teams up with the Brisbane Advertising and Design Club (BADC) for a student competition designed to attract more diversity to the Advertising field.

The brief asks the question: How do we attract more diversity into the advertising industry? Alongside this is the proposition that better diversity and inclusion lead to better advertising.

The competition is eligible to full/part time students or those who have graduated in 2022 and not yet working in the industry, with no previous experience required.

QLD Youngbloods co-chair, Nethmee Goonesekera, said: “This is a wonderful brief that highlights a crucial issue in the industry that we look forward to seeing reviewed critically and creatively.”

Local creative directors will judge the competition and the entrant with the best response will win a trophy on the evening and the recognition from some of the best in the business.

BADC president Mr Stuart Myerscough said: “This is a fantastic way for the next generation in our creative community to introduce themselves and gain exposure as their work will be judged by a panel of Brisbane’s creative leaders.

“The brief addresses ways of bringing more diversity and inclusion into the industry which is just so important. We’re very much looking forward to seeing the responses from an up-and-coming cohort of creatives.”

The deadline for the competition is 11:59 pm Tuesday 11th October 2022, with competition open to Queensland residents only. You can find the brief here.
