Spotify hosted a trivia event for IMAA Melbourne independent media agency members at Bells Hotel in South Melbourne.
A group of 100 indie agencies battled it out to win bragging rights as the state’s sharpest trivia minds. Teams from Stratosphere, The Media Store, Advertising Associates, Bossman, Justice Media, Yakkazoo, Half Dome, Town Square and Media Republic competed for the win.
While it was a close call, Advertising Associates claimed the trophy.
Sam Buchanan, CEO at IMAA, said: “The IMAA and Spotify trivia event sold out among our members in under an hour! After the extended lockdowns Melbourne went through last year, there’s a huge desire for events again and the chance to get together, network, have fun and let off some steam.
"We have a great indie agency community in Melbourne and this is the first of several events the IMAA will host. I’d like to thank Spotify for putting on such a fun event that may or may not have culminated with some dancing on tables…”
Spotify ANZ director of sales, Kate Perry, said: “We made the decision to launch the Spotify Trivia Series in Melbourne to recognise and celebrate the local independent agencies that continue to thrive and most importantly, get together in real life after so long.
"We were thrilled by the enthusiasm shown by the industry, with all the tables snapped up in just a few hours! Huge congrats to the team at Advertising Associates for their excellent quiz skills and matching t-shirts.”
