Media Federation of Australia's annual conference EX Sydney saw 1300 people descend on the White Bay Cruise Terminal to be inspired with media thinking, best practice, innovation and people development.

Sessions for this year's Sydney edition of the annual conference - which also went had 700 people attend in Melbourne the week prior - saw Optus head of consumer marketing Cam Luby open the day revealing the secret to convincing marketers to take risks.

EssenceMediacom chief strategy officer Sophie Price and national head of planning Jack Graham then took the stage telling the audience that media agencies should break traditional advertising rules to foster innovation and positive change.

Trust issues were then revealed as the main reason agencies are shying away from collaboration, according to Havas’ chief strategy officer Mitchell Long,

'What I learnt from Speaking to the Kindest People on Earth' session presented by Zach Johnston and Natalie Sareff of Spark Foundry showed promoting self-awareness, self-acceptance and small acts of kindness can foster a kinder advertising industry.
