Photon Group has appointed Roger Amos as a non-executive independent director amid further consolidations among its agencies.

The marketing services group is still on the hunt for two additional board members. Amos will fill the position as a member of the group's audit committee after the AGM on 23 November.

Amos is a non-executive director of Austar, a chairman of Tyrian Diagnostics and a director of REA Group. He is also chairman of Opera Foundation Australia and a governor of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Photon is still looking for an additional two board members, but has not specified a date when these appointments will be made.

Photon chairman Brian Bickmore said: "Roger's appointment as director of Photon will add valuable experience and expertise to the board."

Meanwhile, Photon has released a trading update on the Australian Securities Exchange following its recapitalisation

Photon head of strategy and business development and Naked founder, John Wilkins, said: "Since the completion of Photon's recapitalisation we have been focused on strengthening Naked's capabilities and developing a long term incentive plan that aligns Naked's key global stakeholders with Photon's shareholders. These ongoing activites will provide a strong platform for the next stage of Naked's growth."

The group revealed that polling company Auspoll has been merged into research company The Leading Edge, while below-the-line agency Brass Tacks has been merged into both ISS Marketing and Kaleidoscope.

Photon has been going through a major consolidation period of late, with Naked and Bellamyhayden merging in September, among others.
