Both the major political parties have spend more than $2 million on advertising so far, a figure Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party (UAP) roughly matches each week, according to Nielsen data.
Last week, from 15 to 21 April, Labor’s spend climbed to $590,000, up by $340,000 from the week prior.
Meanwhile the Liberals lagged behind in the second week of the election campaign, which included a “truce” over the Easter break, with a spend of $260,000, down by $55,000 compared to the week prior.
Overall, this brings Labor’s spend since 11 March to $2,360,000 and Liberal’s to $2,165,000.
Palmer's UAP spent $2,015,000 last week alone, bringing its overall spend to $11,255,000 from 11 March.
Since September 2018, the UAP has spent more than $30 million on advertising.
