Omnicom shares rocket

Shares in Omnicom took off, surging ahead of the rest of Wall Street, after the global advertising group released 2021 full year results.

At the close of trading in the US, Omnicom was up 14% to $US90.12, about double its pandemic low and well above its pre-COVID level of around $US85.

The company posted organic growth of 9.5% for the December quarter, beating analyst expectations.

Revenue was up 2.6% to $US3.856 billion. The Zacks Consensus Estimate was $US3.69 billion.

For the full year, organic growth was 10.2%. Total revenue fted 8.5% to $14.289 billion.

Analysts are generally upbeat, describing Omnicom's December quarter as "solid" and are optimistic for the company's prospects in 2022.

Omnicom is forecasting organic revenue growth of between 5% to 6% for 2022.
