OMD has appointed Gavin Gibson national chief strategy officer and Peita Pacey as head of strategy for OMD Sydney.
Gibson has worked for OMD across the region as the strategy lead for APAC and was global VP of marketing for Chinese tech company HTC.
In his new position, he returns to OMD Australia and will lead strategy across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, working alongside teams to evolve the agency's strategic output.
Pacey returns to OMD after a two-and-a-half year stint at Carat where she held a similar role.
She has extensive experience on agency, client and media owner side, having worked at Pacific Magazines and Universal Pictures earlier in her career.
“They are two of the best thinkers and architects I have worked with and bring the depth of experience and attitude that is key to the next chapter of OMD,” OMD Australia CEO Aimee Buchanan says.
“Gavin has a huge passion for our product, whilst Peita is hugely respected across the industry with a proven track record of producing outstanding and award winning work. We’ve had an incredible 18 months at OMD and these appointments will help ensure we continue to drive great work and business growth for our clients.”
Gibson adds: “OMD Australia have been consistently successful over a long period of time with a reputation in market second to none. I’m thrilled to be back on the team and to help lead the business and our clients to further success.”
Pacey, who joins next month, says: “My previous time at OMD was some of my favourite in my career. With such a strong culture and future focused vision, this is a wonderful opportunity for me to return home and embark with Gav on new adventures.”
OMD Sydney has also promoted Danni Dimitri to strategy director for McDonald’s and Daisy Huang to strategist across a number of key clients.
