Nine forecasts June quarter TV revenue growth of 50%

Nine Entertainment estimates June quarter metro free-to-air television revenue will grow 50%.

The same three months in 202 was dragged down by the economic fallout from the pandemic. 

Television advertising revenue is growing for the first time in many years as brands return to the market post the 2020 pandemic year. 

In a presentation today to a Macquare Bank conference, the media group says March quarter metro FTA market revenue was up 6% on the same three months last year.  Nine‘s share was more than 41%.

The company's TV costs were down 3%.

June quarter BVOD market revenue to grow 50%.

Radio market down 4%. Nine's share up 1.3% percenatge points. June quarter growth estimated at 50%.

Nine recorded just a 2% dip to $1.163 billion in revenue in the six months to December despite the pandemic.
