British advertising executive Nicola Mendelsohn has been appointed vice president of facebook's global business group.
She replaces Carolyn Everson who left the social media platform earlier this year.
"My enthusiasm for this new role is matched only by my excitement that our best days are still ahead of us," Mendelsohn wrote on her Facebook page.
"Since the first day I walked through the door at Facebook eight and a half years ago, I have been so grateful for the opportunity to do work I care about, with colleagues I adore, and partners and clients who inspire me to put our best foot forward on their behalf every day.
"I believe deeply that our platforms are a force for good, and I see our mission play out in innumerable ways every day."
Mendelsohn, also known as Baroness Mendelsohn because she is married to lobbiest and life peer Lord Mendelsohn, was named vice-president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Facebook in June 2013. She is also a non-executive director of Diageo.
