News Corp has rejected reports it is working to bring down the federal Labor government.
Prime minister Anthony Albanese reportedly told a cabinet meeting News Corp titles were “working hand in glove” with opposition leader Peter Dutton.
News Corp Australasia executive chairman Michael Miller told The Australian the prime minister’s criticism of News Corp was “wrong”.
“He called it a campaign – there is no campaign,” Miller said.
“Our editors and journalists call it as they see it when it comes to issues of national importance.”
He said several mainstream media outlets had observed that Albanese’s response to the rising anti-Semitism in Australia had been lacking.
“Most media, not just our mastheads, said the Australian government’s response has been delayed and deficient in terms of addressing growing anti-Semitism and the protection of our Jewish communities,” Miller said.
