Carat Perth appoints new managing director
Carat has appointed Jim Groves as managing director of the agency’s Perth office. Groves will manage more than 50 staff in the WA capital, with local clients including Rio Tinto, Cash Converters, Credit Union Australia and The West Australian Government. Acting MD Michelle Testa will resume her role as GM. Groves brings local, national, and international experience to the role, with a diverse skillset in marketing and communications leadership roles. Most recently, he was the MD of Geometry Global, a WPP agency, and has also owned and operated an independent creative agency in Perth, Groves & Groves, since 2011. Carat CEO Paul Brooks credited Grove’s ‘transformative leadership’ as integral to his appointment.
RMIT Online announces five new industry-built and centred courses
RMIT Online has launched the next offering in its online short course portfolio, Digital Transformation, developed with REA Group, Tigerspike and Paper Giant. The cluster includes five industry-built and centred courses designed to respond to the global demand for hard and soft skills in the digital space, with the portfolio sitting at the nexus of business, design and technology. The university believes the course will appeal to managerial professionals and organisations - across all industries - looking to take a proactive approach to developing the skills necessary to stay relevant in the wake of disruption.
Pride in Diversity welcomes Initiative as first media agency
Initiative has become the first media agency in Australia to partner with the national Pride in Diversity program. Pride in Diversity is the national not-for-profit employer support program for LGBTI workplace inclusion specialising in HR, organisational change and workplace diversity. The organisation publishes the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI), Australia’s national benchmarking instrument for LGBTI workplace inclusion from which Top Employers for LGBTI people is determined. Initiative Australia CEO Melissa Fein says the agency’s senior leadership team regarded diversity as a primary attribute for the business.
