Network 10 has released its first 10 Speaks podcast The Professor and The Hack, following the announcement of its partnership with podcasting platform Acast.
The weekly show will unpack what is happening in Australian politics, hosted by Ten's political editor Peter Van Onselen and national affairs editor Hugh Riminton.
Network Ten CEO Paul Anderson says the release is timely as the nation enters into "the lead-up to the federal election".
"It makes sense for us to extend the great content we have into the booming podcasting area," Anderson says.
As the hosting and distributing partner, Acast will deliver both technical infrastructure and advertising solutions for 10 Speaks.
Acast content director Guy Scott-Wilson says podcast listeners across Australia were on the rise, with numbers continuing to grow year-on-year.
"It’s exciting to see iconic Aussie media companies like Network Ten entering the podcasting space," Scott-Wilson says.
"We’re delighted to partner with Network Ten on 10 Speaks, helping them usher in a new era of on-demand audio content."
10 Speaks' debut follows the launch of Ten's streaming video on-demand (SVOD) platform 10 All Access in December last year.
