Movers & Shakers: Seven, Adgile, Bendigo, Nunn, DDB, Mamamia

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

New CMO at Bendigo

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has appointed Sarah Bateson CMO to form a new Brand, Marketing and Communications Division. She will be based in Bendigo. Sarah Bateson has been appointed chief marketing officer, based in Bendigo, and Taso Corolis has been appointed chief customer officer,

Richard Hunwick joins Adgile as chief commercial officer

Richard Hunwick, Nine’s former high-profile director of sales for total television, is joining TV ad measurement outfit Adgile as chief commercial officer. Next week he joins Adgile’s executive leadership team alongside founder and MD Shaun Lohman, chief customer officer Craig Service and COO Mark Schanzl. 

Seven appoints Jordan King digital sales strategy director

Seven West Media has appointed Jordan King digital sales strategy director from November 4. He joins from Nine Network, where he was director of programmatic and digital sales for three years. King is “tremendously excited” to be joining Seven as it continues to transition and evolve into a media business of the future.

Nunn Media appoints Mitch Hunter and Melissa Galanos

Independent media agency Nunn Media has appointed Mitch Hunter head of strategy and innovation. Also joining Sydney’s growing office is Melissa Galanos, who will take on the newly created role as senior account manager. 

Anna Paine and Owen Bryson return to DDB Sydney 

DDB Sydney has appointed Anna Paine and Owen Bryson creative directors. The pair, who are returning after three years at indie agency Dig, will be responsible for continuing the agency’s heritage making emotionally charged creativity for brands including McDonald’s, Volkswagen, Westpac, and Lipton Iced Tea. 

Venetian Media Group appoints two 

Venetian Media Group (VMG) has promoted Sean McCaull chief experience officer and appointed Olivier Starck chief product and solution officer. McCaull will oversee the client and internal experience staff across its brands and Starck will be responsible for driving the development of products and solutions within VMG's specialised agencies.

Melissa Hopkins creates consultancy

Melissa Hopkins has setup a consultancy, but is so far keeping quiet on its direction and business, as she explores career opportunities. The popular media industry figure said it is an opportunity for me to spread her wings and explore new opportunities, remits and industries by providing strategic and business advice.

Cartology's Paul Bates joins Broadsheet Media 

Broadsheet has appointed Paul Bates commercial director. Reporting to managing director Sian Whitaker, he will lead the sales, studio, design and audience teams. Bates joins the publisher from Cartology, the retail media unit of Woolworths, where he was general manager of agency and client partnerships. 

Mamamia's new chief revenue officer is Georgie Nichols

Mamamia has appointed Georgie Nichols, formerly of Seven West Media, chief revenue officer. She has more than 25 years experience including national sales director at Seven West Media, GM at Carat and media director at Telstra. 

Edge's Richard Parker joins We Are Social

Socially-led creative agency We Are Social has appointed Richard Parker chief strategy officer. Joining from We Are Social, he will lead the 60-person Sydney team of strategists, research experts, and paid media specialists.

Deb Langham appointed Alliance Outdoor CCO

Alliance Outdoor Media has promoted Deb Langham to COO. She has experience across a wide range of industries, including 26 years’ in the out-of-home industry and is "thrilled" to take on this new role. 

WPP’s Gavin Bain appointed CEO at Verian APAC

Verian Group, a research, behaviour change and communications advisory business, has appointed Gavin Bain, formerly CEO of Wunderman Thompson Australia, CEO for the APAC region. He will also join the global executive of Verian, formerly known as Kantar Public prior to its divestment from Kantar.

Yahoo appoints Valeri Liborski as CTO

Yahoo has appointed Valeri Liborski as CTO, taking over from Aengus McClean who is retiring at the end of the year. He brings over two decades of experience and leadership, having previously worked at Microsoft, Amazon and HelloFresh.

OMG appoints a CMO and brings all brands under one marketing structure

OMG Australia (OMG) has appointed Kim Hamilton to the newly created role of chief marketing officer. Reporting to to OMG ANZ CEO Peter Horgan, she will lead a new marketing structure, bringing the individual OMG brands together to form one national community.
