Adland is full of big moves at the moment. Here are the movers and shakers of this week:

Scott Whybin exits Whybin\TBWA

Whybin\TBWA founder Scott Whybin has resigned from the agency he started 21 years ago.

Whybin, who is the chairman, regional creative director and founder of Whybin\TBWA Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland is understood to have been in talks with TBWA globally, and decided to exit the business. Read more here.

Bauer Media names Nick Chan as new CEO

Bauer Media has named former Seven West Media COO Nick Chan as its new CEO, five months after David Goodchild stepped back from the top job. Prior to working at Seven West, Chan ran Pacific Magazines for 10 years. In addition to Bauer Media, Chan will oversee digital division Bauer Xcel Media, content business BauerWorks, Bauer Trader Media and Bauer Books. Read more here.

Nine Entertainment appoints Greg Barnes as CFO

Nine Entertainment Co has appointed Greg Barnes as chief financial officer. He replaces Simon Kelly, who left the business in January. The moves follows revenue chief Peter Wiltshire's exit after nine years at Nine and a decline in revenue. Read more here. Read more here.

Del Campo exits, Saatchi & Saatchi names new global CCO

Saatchi & Saatchi has named Kate Stanners as its new global chief creative officer to replace outgoing Pablo Del Campo. Stanners will retain her current role as CCO of Saatchi & Saatchi London alongside the new position. It is thought she is the first woman to hold the top creative role in any major global agency network. Read more here.

CHE Proximity hires Googler to lead startup offering

CHE Proximity has appointed former Googler Luke Marshall to run its startup offering, Spotfires, as the division starts a new partnership with non-profit organisation Startup Victoria. Marshall's new role will see him named head of Spotfires, CHE Proximity's innovation division created to work with Australia's booming startup economy. Read more here.

Nine Powered promotes Lizzie Young; poaches Initiative director

Nine has restructured its Powered division promoting Lizzie Young into an expanded role and hiring Melissa Mullins from IPG Mediabrands. Mullins is joining from Initiative to work alongside Young in the role of strategy director.

Bauer Xcel axes five positions

Bauer Media’s digital arm Bauer Xcel has absorbed five positions, including general manager of operations Marcelo Silva. Head of digital marketing, Kiff Newby, has also been let go.

Bauer Xcel managing director Carl Hammerschmidt says in statement that the structural changes are "necessary" moving forward and the company is on track for a "successful" 2016.

DDB Sydney promotes Fran Clayton to CSO

DDB Sydney has announced the promotion of its head of planning, Fran Clayton, to chief strategy officer (CSO). Clayton joined DDB in 2013 as planning partner and was promoted to head of planning in 2014. She replaces Leif Stromnes as strategic lead for Sydney while Stromnes moves into a national role.Read more here.

Ogilvy Australia creates head of media role

Ogilvy Group Australia has created a new of head of media role to drive collaboration between media strategy and creative. Former chief operating officer of the Media Store, Saurin Worthington will take up the nationally-focused role which Ogilvy Australia CEO David Fox says has more of a focus on championing media opportunities and collaborating, than just straight media buying. The Star Observer appoints new editor

The Star Observer has appointed Corey Sinclair as editor following the departure of Elias Jahshan at the end of February. Sinclair joins the publication from News Corp having worked in Darwin and Sydney, including a stint as deputy digital editor of the NT News.
