Adland is full of big moves at the moment. Here are the movers and shakers of this week.

Nine's revenue chief Peter Wiltshire exits

Peter Wiltshire stood down as chief revenue officer of Nine Entertainment Co and will be replaced by Michael Stephenson, who steps up to chief sales officer.

Witshire has been at Nine for 10 years and says he will take a break after 27 years in the industry. Read more here.

Telstra hires Nokia’s burning man, and ex-Optus exec

Telstra has made two C-suite level director appointments under new CEO Andrew Penn, including the hire of former Nokia-CEO Stephen Elop - infamous for calling Nokia a "burning platform" and ex-Optus exec Kevin Russell.

The hires coincide with a restructure of media and marketing execs under CMO Joe Pollard. Read more here.

Tonagh named Foxtel CEO after Freudenstein departs

News Corp joint head Peter Tonagh has been named Foxtel CEO following the departure of current CEO Richard Freudenstein.

Tonagh, who was named CEO of News Corp in November last year, was previously Foxtel COO under Freudenstein before taking up a role at News Corp head office three years ago. Read more here.

Dentsu promotes Shaun Briggs to GM Melbourne

Dentsu Mitchell has promoted Shaun Briggs to the newly created role of GM Melbourne as the company undergoes a “business evolution”, following a batch of redundancies at Dentsu Mitchell in the traditional media and account services departments. Read more here.

Nine appoints new television sales director

Nine has appointed Richard Hunwick as its new director of sales television, a day after Michael Stephenson took over as Nine Entertainment Co's head of revenue. Hunwick had been working in Nine's Brisbane office for the past five years as Brisbane sales director. Read more here. 

AJF Partnership hires Havas CD

AJF Partnership has lured Havas creative director Christopher Johnson to join its Sydney office.

Johnson has 19 years of experience in the communications industry across agencies including M&C Saatchi, Leo Burnett and DDB Sydney. Read more here.

AOL spearheads attribution with new APAC role

Sydney-based Nikki Retallick will take the reins as head of data and attribution APAC focusing on those areas which AOL deems are the two fundamental building blocks in its unified programmatic solution for publishers, advertisers and agencies alike. Read more here.

Ingram named JWT CEO after Martinez resigns over scandal

Tamara Ingram has been appointed global CEO of J Walter Thompson Co (JWT) after Gustavo Martinez resigned over allegations of racist and sexual slurs.

She joins Maxus Worldwide global CEO Lindsay Pattison as women who lead global ad agencies. Read more here.

Free TV CEO Julie Flynn to depart

Free TV CEO Julie Flynn will retire from the business after 15 years in the top role. During her time at the organisation, Flynn oversaw the smooth transition from analogue to digital television. Read more here.

Ladbrokes CMO departs Ladbrokes

Australia CMO James Burnett has left the sports betting company, with Simon Jarvis appointed to replace him. Jarvis had previous been general manager of marketing at Australis College before taking up the role with Ladbrokes. Read more here.

McDonald's hires ex-eBay, Ripcurl marketer

Digital marketer Dane Sharp, who has held positions with eBay, Under Armour and Ripcurl in Australia, has been hired as digital experience manager for McDonald's Australia. Read more here.

Luke Chess joins Mammal

Mammal has announced Luke Chess will join the agency as creative partner. Chess joins the team from his previous position as executive creative director at MJW.

He replaces Mammal co-founder Gary Cunliffe who has left to pursue interests in New York. He will be working with managing partner Adrian Leppard to continue to “evolve the business”.

Woolworths' transformation officer leaves

Woolworths' transformation officer Matthew Stanton has left the role, with the retail giant deciding not to replace him. The retail giant said in a statement Stanton had been an asset to the business as he had helped to streamline operations and reduce costs, giving control back to the business units. Read more here.
