BMF appoints Special's Eileen Cosgrove-Moloney as joint-general manager
Creative agency BMF has hired the former general manager of Special, Eileen Cosgrove-Moloney, as its joint-general manager. Prior to joining BMF, Cosgrove-Moloney spent four years at Special where she led the Uber and Uber Eats APAC account, based in Tokyo. With more than 12 years’ experience, she has worked at agencies around the world, including Droga5, RKCR Y&R, Saatchi & Saatchi London, and Colenso BBDO.
Kate Baldwin becomes Mamamia's head of independent agencies for VIC
Mamamia has promoted Kate Baldwin to the head of independent agencies in Victoria, after most recently holding the position head of audio sales. Her appointment follows the recent promotion of Lisa Marie Lavocah as the head of independent agencies in NSW. Both senior appointments will report to Holly Yates, the national head of sales for independent agencies and direct.
Lee Simpson goes from whiteGREY in global restructure
Lee Simpson, a casualty of a global restructure, is stepping down as CEO of whiteGREY. whiteGREY is being absorbed into AKQA, the digital design and communications agency, in a move described as a "realignment". In Australia and New Zealand, the combined group will be led by Brian Vella, the CEO of AKQA AUNZ.
SOCIETY expands team with two appointments in Australia
Creative marketing communications agency SOCIETY has expanded its team with two appointments in Sydney and Melbourne. Will Lehnertz has been appointed to further enhance client experience, as group strategy lead in Sydney. Lehnertz's prior experience includes positions at Netflix, Woolworths Group, and Qantas. Tess Cameron has joined as marketing communications director in Melbourne, bringing 25 years’ experience in marketing and communications, with a track record in driving positive social impact.
Havas Group ANZ appoints Marco Villella head of talent
Havas Group ANZ has appointed Marco Villella head of talent. He worked for GroupM for more than four years as talent acquisition lead across GroupM’s agencies EssenceMediacom, Mindshare, Nexus and Wavemaker. Before he was at IPG Mediabrands and Hart Resources Group. Villella’s remit will involve overseeing the talent product and Havas’ people experience journey.
JCDecaux NZ restructures sales team
JCDecaux has restructured its sales team in New Zealand. The team comprises of four divisions with new appointments and promotions. Kavish Patel, aka KP, will assume the newly created role of sales director – agencies to lead this division. Sales leader Stephanie Tucker has been promoted to the role of group sales manager – agencies. Natasha Judson joins JCDecaux as group sales manager – agencies from Yahoo where she was a senior platform account partner.
VMG's Aspire Sports Management hires ex-NRL managers
Ex-general manager for clubs and the NRL Jonnie Stewart has been appointed managing director at Venetian Media Group (VMG)’s sports management and advisory firm Aspire Sports Management. Ex-CEO of the Brisbane Broncos Paul White also joins as an investor and shareholder. Stewart brings a decade of commercial sports experience holding executive and general manager positions at both club and league level.
Rob Murray steps down early as chair of SCA
Rob Murray, the chair of broadcaster SCA, today retired as a board director and chair. He brought forward his previously announced intention to retire at or before SCA’s 2024 Annual General Meeting. Heith Mackay-Cruise, a former CEO of ACP Magazines, is the new chair. The board says it will not appoint any new directors this financial year or while SCA continues to engage with ARN Media and Anchorage Capital Partners on a possible takeover.
