Seven's broadcast of the Melbourne Cup was watched by 2.7 million people, including a peak of 1.9 million metropolitan viewers, and a record number of viewers online.
This is less than the 2.1 million metro viewers that tuned in last year but part of the decline can be explained by a huge lift in digital audiences.
Coverage of the race on digital reached 850,000 on Seven's Horse Racing Facebook page while half a million video views were recorded across Facebook and Twitter.
The Melbourne Cup coverage had an average audience of 915,000 across the seven-hour coverage.
There were 10.9 million streamed minutes during the coverage, which is up 64% on 2016, and 350,000 concurrent streams during the race, which is 22% up on last year.
