One of MediaCom's longest serving executives, Melbourne GM Brett Elliott, is leaving the business after 18 years.

AdNews understands Elliott is taking a break from work and his next move has not been determined. MediaCom has lost two leaders in eight months, Elliot and former MD Anny Havercroft.

MediaCom Australia and New Zealand CEO Sean Seamer will manage the Melbourne office, with support from MediaCom's global ECD Gemma Hunter and chief client officer Nicole Boyd, until a successor can be found.

“We will miss Brett, but his decision comes with our full support and respect,” Seamer said.

“He’s always been a pillar of our operation and over the last 12 months has been key to recruiting great talent in Melbourne, strengthening our business to leave strong foundations for future momentum.”

Elliott has held several senior roles at MediaCom since he joined the business in 1999. He was most recently promoted to GM of Melbourne in September 2015 where he lead investment operations, overall operations and commercials for the agency.

“Working at MediaCom for so long, I have experienced numerous highs and lows and I’m really proud of the resilience the agency in Melbourne has shown, particularly over the last few years,” Elliott said.

“I feel like I have made every contribution I can and that MediaCom has gained momentum after key client wins and retentions, creating award winning work and a strong and talented team in place. It is the right time for me to depart and to let the team continue to build on our recent success.”
