McDonald’s has promoted insider Alistair Macrow to global chief marketing officer, a role discarded about a year ago.

Macrow has been with the fast food company for 15 years, a former head of marketing in the UK and most recently CMO for international markets.

As part of the return to a global CMO role, Colin Mitchell, senior vice president, gobal marketing, is out "in search of a new challenge".

Macrow will assume Mitchell's responsibilities for global menu strategy, global brand, global insights, family, and global marketing enablement.

McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski: "As we emerge from this global pandemic, consumers’ trust in the McDonald’s brand and compelling marketing programs in every country where we operate will be critical to re-establish the strong business momentum we enjoyed leading into this crisis."
