McCann has appointed multi award winning creatives Josh Aitken and Willy Maitland as the agency continues to build its national creative offering.
Aitken joins McCann, part of Australian independent network Hero, from Clemenger BBDO and AMV BBDO London.
He has created campaigns including V Energy The Procrastination Place, Hiscox The Hack, and Tourism Australia's Gold Lion winning Aussie News Today.
He also helped launch and run Clemenger’s social and content offering Flare.
He joins the team as creative director.
Maitland joins the team from AnalogFolk and Clemenger BBDO.
Some of his work includes Hungry Jack’s Burger Phone, Extra Support Acts, Boss Coffee How Japan Can, V Energy The Procrastination Place and Welcome to Reckorderland.
He is also the youngest person to teach at AWARD school.
Together their work has been awarded at Cannes, D&AD, The Webbys, Effies, AWARD Awards, Caples, New York Festival and Spikes.
“Josh and Willy are ace! As professionals and as people," McCann Sydney chief creative officer Ben Coulson.
"They’re not quite normal, in a very good way. I think they’ll fit right in. Welcome guys, hope it’s a great gig for you!”
The duo previously worked with Coulson at Clemenger BBDO Sydney.
“We’d probably take a job at Blockbuster Video if it meant working with Coulson again," Maitland and Aitken say.
"Luckily, unlike Blockbuster, McCann and Hero Group are developing a creatively-driven business that’s vibrant and a little weird. We’re excited to be part of this.”
The creative duo will work together to help lead the creative output for Mastercard, Coca Cola, eBay, Microsoft and Menulog.
