The most read story (using sharing on social media as a guide) was a story by Nathan Jolly in The Bragg about how to play the card game UNO, according to analysis by media intelligence firm Meltwater.
The opening sentence: “As the old adage goes: to unleash the Draw 4 card during a heated Uno battle is to truly risk a friendship … “
A discussion followed on how to really play the game. The story was shared 533,581 times on Facebook, according to Meltwater which uses what it calls a social echo to calculate popularity:
Facebook - Total number of Posts, Likes, Comments, and Private Messages.
Twitter - Amount of times content has been Tweeted or Retweeted*.
Reddit - Total number of shares across the top 17,000 most popular sub-reddits.
The second most popular story was one from Yahoo about the Trump family and senior White House members partying in a jovial mood in the hours before storming of the Capitol building.
