Peter Horgan has been promoted to the position of chief executive of OMD Australia.
The move follows the promotion of Leigh Terry to CEO of Ominicom Media Group Australia and New Zealand earlier this week. Both Terry and Horgan formerly held the positions of joint managing director of OMD Australia.
Omnicom Media Group Asia-Pacific chief executive Barry Cupples said: “Having worked closely with Peter for four years, he has displayed a terrific understanding for what drives a strong agency business. He is the natural choice for leading OMD in Australia.”
Terry said, “Peter and I have shared in the growth of OMD since 2005. We have built a collaborative working relationship, and I look forward to this continuing through his leadership of this critical business within the Group.”
Commenting on his promotion, Horgan said “We are facing a landscape that is unrecognisable from even a few years ago. OMD has the talent and depth of capability to prosper in this environment and I’m delighted to be leading this unique business on the next phase of its evolution.”
Horgan will lead the four OMD offices and 340 staff nationally. Horgan has been with OMD since 2003, when he was hired as executive director of trading, and has been in the media industry for more than 20 years.
