Health insurance firm NIB has launched a media review placing incumbents Ikon and Atomic 212 on notice, AdNews can reveal.
Ikon handles the bulk of NIB's media planning and buying, while Atomic 212 handles performance media. It is estimated the insurance firm spends about $12 million on media each year.
Ikon has worked with the brand since 2011.
AdNews understands the review seeks to consolidate media to one agency.
Agencies involved would not respond AdNews requests for comment, but the client confirmed it expects to conclude the review over the next six weeks.
“We are currently reviewing our media buying capability in Australia with an RFP process underway to select the most appropriate vendor to meet our ongoing needs,” a NIB spokesperson said.
“It’s expected the process will be finalised in April and we look forward to working with the successful supplier to deliver upon our marketing objectives.”
