We take a look at the headlines from the weekend as Scott Morrison emerged from the Liberal Party leadership spill as Australia’s 30th Prime Minister.
The Daily Telegraph, The Courier Mail and The Herald Sun were amongst those to feature a picture of Morrison with his family, while The Sydney Morning Herald and Canberra Times front pages were also dedicated to the new PM.
On Friday, now ex-Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull was the focus as both The Canberra Times and the Daily Telegraph lamented his “Madness”, The Australian hit out at his “House of Chaos”, and The Courier Mail branded the whole situation a “Circus”.
Meanwhile, The Sydney Morning Herald braced itself for a “Showdown”, and the Herald Sun geared up for a a wild west shootout. Check out all the frontpages below.
