Fairfax Media's Financial Review Group (FRG) has restructured its commercial sales division, combining separate teams into one team.
The team will be responsible for sales across all of FRG's publications and platforms, which include The Australian Financial Review, Weekend Financial Review, BRW, CFO, Asset, Financial Review Smart Investor, MIS, Financial Review Magazine, Financial Review Boss and Financial Review Sophisticated Traveller.
The changes will result in one redundancy at the Australian Financial Review.
FRG sales & marketing director Sue Kelly said: "Our new sales structure has been developed in response to market demand for a less fragmented, more streamlined approach to our products. Realigning our sales teams into one will afford us greater flexibility to meet clients’ marketing objectives and requirements."
The news comes amid a turbulent period at Fairfax. Last week, chief executive Greg Hywood announced a drop in revenue, and hundreds of redundancies at its metro mastheads as the company looks to cut costs.
Earlier in the year, Fairfax installed News Limited deputy chief executive of The Australian's commercial team, Brett Clegg, as chief executive of FRG. Clegg replaced Michael Gill, who departed Fairfax after 21 years.
The restructures at Fairfax come amid speculation that FRG will be brought under Jack Matthews' remit as chief executive of Fairfax Digital and Metropolitan Mastheads, which would see the further disintegration of commercial silos at Fairfax.
