The New Zealand Aotearoa Effie Awards, presented by the Commercial Communications Council, recognised the most effective advertising and marketing communications work in the country over the past year.
This year’s awards recognised winners across 25 categories, from brand-building excellence to innovative solutions.
TBWA\NZ, for client partners ANZ Bank New Zealand and 2degrees, took home the top gongs with 10 trophies across 9 categories in addition to the Grand Effie and Most Effective Agency of the Year awards.
The Grand Effie was awarded for ANZ: From Dreaming Big to Knowing HOW; the campaign was recognised for its tangible impact in helping Kiwis improve financial wellbeing.
The recognition comes a couple of months after the same campaign picked up a Gold at the APAC Effie Awards.
Colenso BBDO also won big with its Delivereasy Leave A Better Taste In Your Mouth campaign scoring the Hardest Challenge award.
Crave for The PoolHouse, Motion Sickness for Frank Energy, Pitchblack Partners and Hearts & Science for Popeyes New Zealand and Lassoo Media Ltd for Turners Auto Retail also received gold awards across industry and specialist categories.
TBWA\NZ chief executive Catherine Harris said TBWA\NZ has worked tirelessly to produce work that works for client partners and to take out 11 awards is a phenomenal feat.
"To be announced as the Most Effective Agency of the Year though, is the best recognition for our absolutely incredible strategy team and all of our brilliant people who deliver excellence every day," Harris said.
"We have the best clients in the country and these awards are a testament to our partnerships with them.
"For ANZ and 2degrees to be recognised at such a scale showed the power of the marketing teams and the work they do with us.”
