Cirrus Media is to sell B&T and Travel Weekly to David Hovenden and Dan Uglow.
The two will publish the titles via a new company called The Misfits Media Company. The deal will be rubber stamped by the end of the month, with the new company now eyeing premises in Surry Hills for around 20 full time staff.
B&T recently moved from a monthly print and online daily news-focused publication to a more whimsical bi-monthly print publication and a Pinterest-style website that allows PR firms to upload press releases directly.
Travel Weekly remains more traditionally focused, although its website will move closer to B&T's style after a redesign in January, Uglow told AdNews.
“Print will largely remain the same but the redesign will make it more similar to B&T's approach. It will plug in to social media and into user generated content and be more visually-led.”
Hovenden and Uglow said that the two properties were “profitable in their own right “ and that assets to be transferred included both print and digital assets, plus directories and awards.
They would not disclose financial terms.
