The inaugural Carat Couch-ella virtual festival is to become a yearly event.

Carat Australia CEO Sue Squillace says the event was a huge success with more than 1100 media industry members tuned in on the day.

“What started out as a thought on how we deliver something to help our staff and clients have an enjoyable experience during the lockdown, turned into this remarkable carnival where our media partners were more than happy to join with us and provide an amazing array of talent,” Squillace says.

The top three sessions of the day as voted by Carat staff were Cooking with Manu Feildel, Getting Financially Fit with Yahoo Finance, and the Nova Red Room hosted by Ryan (Fitzy) Fitzgerald.

Nova's Red Room gave viewers a surprise appearance by Delta Goodrem who shared a sneak debut of her yet to be released new single.

Then to finish the day, with a dance and a drink, international DJ and producer Regard played some tunes while isolated in his hotel room.

Some of the other highlights of the day included a preview of Michael Brown’s new book, I Don’t Agree, a podcast of Christian O’Connell interviewing Amanda Keller, exclusive interview with Olympian swimmer Cate Campbell and a performance from Courtney Act live from LA.

Brand experience and entertainment agency, MKTG were Carat’s production partner for Couch-ella.

“Produced in a period of isolation from homes and hotel rooms around Australia, London and LA, I could not be prouder of the creative ambition and flawless execution from the team on display with this event," MKTG client solutions partner Jarrad Provis says.

"Our aim was to create a meaningful experience, breaking down barriers to unite, engage and entertain our audience via a virtual platform, connecting them in real time, and in person to some of the best talent in the business.”

The invitation-only event was held on Thursday, May 14, for clients, media partners, Carat and Dentsu staff and journalists.
