Creative director of The Campaign Palace Sydney, Cameron Hoelter, is leaving the agency after two years in the job.

A replacement has not yet been finalised. Hoelter joined the Palace in 2009 after a highly-awarded stint with Clemenger to work on Bonds, Lumix, Panasonic and Care Career.

Palace executive chairman Mark Mackay said Hoelter "wants to take a break from the business and I respect that".

"Cam has done a brilliant job in refocusing the Palace’s creative offering and attracting new talent. But we still have strong and experienced creative leadership in the agency and a very solid department. Expect the good work to keep on coming," Mackay said.

Hoelter said: "It’s been a fantastic experience being at one of Australia’s iconic agencies. And it’s been a real privilege working with Paul Fishlock. I wish Paul, Mark and the Palace team every success in the future."

Hoelter's departure comes hot on the heels of a string of setbacks and a senior mangement shake-up at The Palace. In early July, Sydney managing director Jacques Burger announced his intention to return to South Africa to join M&C Saatchi. The following week, Tom Cooper parted ways with the Melbourne office following the loss of the $6 million Origin Energy account. In September, The Palace lost Westpac's $32 million ad account.
