Bellamyhayden resigns Pepsi

The PepsiCo media planning and strategy account is up for grabs, with Bellamyhayden forced to resign the account as it prepares to merge with Naked Communications.

Naked currently handles strategy for Pepsi's arch-rival Coca Cola. Sources told AdNews that the agency would immediately resign the account.

PHD was appointed to the $26 million PepsiCo media account at the end of August, following a pitch against Mindshare. That appointment covers all PepsiCo businesses in Australia, including beverages Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Gatorade, Mountain Dew and snackfoods Smith's, Doritos, Red Rock Deli, Grain Waves and Sakata.

According to sources, PHD is the likely candidate to pick up the strategy business.

In a further development following the demise of Bellamyhaden, it has emerged that Bellamyhayden managing partner Phil Hayden will take a senior role at Naked, alongside Mike Wilson, Adam Ferrier and Ian Perrin.

The remaining Bellamyhayden staff will relocate to the Naked offices, including the creative team from Vox, which Bellamyhayden acquired in April in a bid to become full service. One junior member of the Naked staff will be made redundant.
