Australian Open begins, while The Amazing Race beats Holey Moley

The first night of the Australian Open pulled in less than 500,000 metro viewers, as The Amazing Race Australia beat Seven's Holey Moley.

Yesterday’s night session of the tennis which runs late into the night, attracted 486,000 metro viewers on Nine, according to OzTam figures.

Australia’s Nick Kyrgios started his campaign from 7pm, with his match against Portugal’s Frederico Ferreira Silva attracting an average audience of 605,000 metro viewers on Nine.

Meanwhile, Ten’s The Amazing Race Australia attracted 558,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven’s Holey Moley with 528,000 metro viewers.

For people aged 18-49, The Amazing Race was the top program, attracting 270,000 metro viewers.

For people aged 25-54, The Amazing Race was again on top, attracting 301,000 metro viewers, Holey Moley pulled in 239,00, and The Australian Open night session 192,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s Holey Moley has experienced a 46% decline in total people since launching a week ago to 983,459 metro viewers.

However, Seven once again led with Seven News, which attracted 1.05 million metro viewers.

Seven also took the biggest audience share for the night, with 28.7% of the network share, followed by Nine with 26.2% of the share and Ten with 19.9%.
