Australian Bananas launches 'Banana Gym Pass' via Thinkerbell

Australian Bananas has launched 'Banana Gym Pass' via Thinkerbell.

The banana is now a passport to hundreds of gyms nationwide and a healthy and active lifestyle.

Thinkerbell teamed up with Val Morgan Outdoor, connecting over 350 gyms nationwide including Goodlife Health Clubs, Fitness First, Zap Fitness, Club Lime and Viva Leisure, to bring the idea to life on National Banana Day. 

Offering the chance to peel back layers of excuses and procrastination, Aussie gym goers can find their nearest participating gym online and present a banana as their Banana Gym Pass on 16th October, to enjoy access to a free workout across the country.

Hort Innovation head of marketing Belinda Van Schaik said National Banana Day is a day to celebrate local produce in a unique and fun way.

"Naturally convenient, full of magnesium, folate and vitamin B6 - bananas are the perfect go-to energy snack. We hope that this initiative will encourage more Australians to fuel their next workout with an Aussie banana," she said.

Thinkerbell North general manager Philippa Netolicky said Banana Gym Pass is a simple idea that brings utility to Australian Bananas positioning of encouraging an active lifestyle.

"Anything that means more bananas purchased and eaten, and more gym sessions, sounds pretty good to us. There’s no telling what healthy activities Banana Pass might open up next," she said. 

VMO national sales manager, independent agencies, Ryan Simpson said the partnership is the first of its kind for Val Morgan Outdoor and our network of gym partnerships.

"We’re so excited to get behind it, we’ve even delivered bananas to media agencies and offered our staff time off to participate," he said.

"It’s a brilliant initiative to connect those who don’t have gym memberships across the country with a free opportunity to feel the benefits of a good workout and make their body sing."

Banana Gym Pass is supported by a multi-channel national campaign including OOH, gym retail, YouTube, radio and owned socials.
