Pay TV provider Austar has awarded the contract for its customer publishing magazine to Edge Custom Media (ECM), after parting company with ACP.

ECM will take over the reigns of the monthly title, called Austar, from early next year. Chief executive Eddie Thomas told AdNews: "It's a great win and it cements the work we have been doing over the last few years. It's the sort of win we can use to build business on."

Austar has a monthly circulation of 310,000 according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, and a readership of 342,000 according to Roy Morgan.

ACP had been the publisher of Austar since 2004, when it replaced Emap. According to ACP, the magazine is one of the "highest circulating and widest read in regional Australia."

Austar now joins the ECM lineup alongside titles for other brands including Volkswagen, NAB, Suzuki, Australia Post and Australian Unity.
