SYDNEY: Audi Australia's general manager marketing Immo Buschmann has left the company after three years to return to Germany.
Buschmann has stepped up to the role of general manager sales Far East at Audi's parent company Volkswagen AG, leaving Audi Australia on the hunt for a new marketing head.
“It is a natural progression for me,” said Buschmann. “I had three years in Japan and three years in Australia. My new role is to coordinate Volkswagen national sales directors in the far east which includes Australia, Japan plus Korea and New Zealand.”
Prior to his departure, Buschmann restructured Audi's marketing department promoting advertising executive Belinda Harris to marketing communications manager. She will report into the general manager of marketing and communications, who is expected to be appointed imminently.
Harris will report to Audi Australia managing director Uwe Hagen, until Buschmann’s replacement arrives.
In his time at Audi, Buschmann helped grow the premium car brand, which now ranks third for car sales in the premium category.
