The Audited Media Association of Australia (AMAA) board's long-standing CEO Josanne Ryan has departed and Patrick Whitnall has been appointed to the new role of managing director.
Over the past three years, the AMAA has worked alongside the industry to build industry body the Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO).
Ryan will leave the organisation in mid-November.
“It has been a privilege to work with so many great people from within the industry spanning publishing, the agencies, and other industry bodies," Ryan said.
"Launching AiMCO with so many talented, innovative people from within the influencer marketing sector has been a true highlight and I look forward to seeing AiMCO thrive and evolve in the future.”
Jason Tonelli, chair of AMAA, said for almost nine years, Josanne has led the AMAA with passion and integrity as a tireless advocate for the industry.
"Amongst her many achievements she leaves a substantial legacy with the establishment of a vibrant and valuable new industry body, AiMCO, along with its impressive Awards and new capability program, AiMCO Accreditation," Tonelli said.
"The AMAA Board want to acknowledge and thank Josanne for her wonderful contribution to the advertising industry and for her dedication, professionalism, and leadership throughout. We wish her the very best for her future. endeavours.”
Patrick Whitnall was selected by the AMAA Board after a search for a new leader with the right credentials to further build AiMCO within the thriving influencer marketing sector.
The board said: “Patrick stood out as the right choice to take AiMCO forward to the next level. Patrick is an accomplished leader; one that brings talent, creative expertise, drive, passion and an exciting vision for the business.“
Whitnall, having been part of the launch of AiMCO and serving as co-deputy chair, said it is a great honour to be asked to take on the role of MD at AiMCO.
"Our awards this year are set to be the biggest yet, and the accreditation program is building and receiving amazing feedback from the attendee cohort and industry," Whitnall said.
"I look forward to working with our members to deliver value to their businesses and to the industry.”
