A meme by independent creative Adrian Elton about billionaire Clive Palmer's failed election bid in 2019 has gone viral for a second time in the latest national poll.
The now famous 2019 work took a swipe at the would-be politician spending $60 million and not getting one seat in parliament and declaring: Should've come to Ikea.
Many believed the mock ad, which had no involvement with Ikea, was genuine
At the weekend, Elton wrote on LinkedIn: "My Clive/IKEA 2019 & 2022 memes are popping up everywhere. I didn’t even repost the original and only made the update as I thought the perverse spend of $100M demanded an amended version.
"Friends and colleagues have been sending me screenshots from completely unconnected sources. The meme has legs.
"Simultaneously I tested positive this morning for the dreaded lurgy. So annoying. Hoping it’s not anywhere near as unpleasant as Clive."
