It's 6 am. Most of Sydney is still asleep. Not the BWM Challengers. The BWM team is heading down to Wentworth Park in Ultimo to get their Boot Camp on.
First up are laps around the park to the sounds of the city stirring and the motivational bellowing of trainer, Sam Mower, co-director at Manly Beach Health Club.
Leading the pack of dedicated athletes is Richard O’Rourke, board account director at BWM who, for the next sweaty 60-minutes, keeps the team enthused as they alternate squats, boxing, jumping jacks and sprints in preparation for the big day.
By 8am the team is showered, back in the office, and ready to take on another day at the BWM creative hub – one training session closer to the AdNews Challenge.

Even The POP Agency, BWM’s consumer PR arm, has instigated work-out-wear Wednesday in support of the cause. However, whether any exercise is actually done in said work-out-wear is yet to be determined.
Heading up the BWM team in this year’s AdNews Challenge will be Jamie Mackay, Richard O’Rourke, Tim Anderson and Guy Lovell.
Jamie Mackay, keen surfer, chief Strategy officer and managing director Sydney, will be representing BWM in the kayaking stretch of the challenge. Mackay has been training since February when he visited the Mentawai Islands on a surf trip with SurfAid.
Richard O’Rourke, aspirational fitness guru and board account director, will be leading BWM in the running component of the challenge. O’Rourke is a pillar of fitness motivation in the BWM Sydney office and achieved the company's best time in the City2Surf.

Tim Anderson, chief financial officer and seasoned swimmer, will be taking on the swimming leg of the event.
Guy Lovell, senior account director and all round athlete, will be tackling the final AdNews Challenge – the Warrior Workout Obstacle Course.
O’Rourke said, “BWM is in great shape for the AdNews Challenge this year. After forming the core team in the lead up to the City2Surf we’ve kept up our training and everyone is really motivated to do better than we did last year – which was coming about last.
“We’re keen to get out there, raise some money for UN LDT, set some great times and give our competitors something to talk about – besides our uniforms!”
