Data and analytics company Acxiom has a new managing director for Australia and New Zealand to replace Ken Breen.
Dean Capobianco, who has with digital media experience as an executive with ninemsn, Yahoo! and News Corp among the names in his 16 year stint in the industry, will take the reins from next month.
He was brought in after a two to three month search.
He spent the last two years with China Search International, an international sales partner of Chinese giant Baidu, but has had a diverse set up roles.
During his time at ninemsn he held roles ranging from director of mobile to group commercial director.
Capobianco has some big targets in mind, saying that he wants to be part of a company which shaped the industry in a small but well-developed market.
"I'm extremely excited about joining the business at this time,” Capobianco said. Big data is high priority on every marketer's agenda -- and Acxiom is well-placed to lead the way and help shape the industry."
Acxiom said the appointment of Capobianco was made with his marketing experience in mind and "his desire to support advertisers in the growth and evolution of marketing data use to maximise campaign results."
It said 80% of marketers say data currently plays an important role for them and 92% expect to increase the contribution of data to their marketing efforts to become more customer-centric and to improve returns on their marketing spend, citing a Global DMA study.
