In his first ad since feature film Son of a Gun, Australian writer/director Julius Avery has created a nail-biting TVC for Supercheap Auto.
“The Best Performing Oils Under The One Roof” ad was filmed in regional Queensland using five elite precision drivers from films like Mad Max: Fury Road and The Matrix. It took two days and 93 sets of tyres to perfect.
According to Supercheap Auto marketing manager David Bauer, the concept was perfect for its car enthusiast customers.
“The four branded vehicles doing high performance precision driving is a memorable device for dramatising our oil range.”
For Curious Film, the ad was a good vehicle for Avery to return to adland after his debut feature, Son of Gun, which starred Ewan McGregor.
The campaign, which goes live this week on TV and online, includes a 73-second director's cut.
