More than 80,000 Australians suffer from Parkinson's but the treatments available are still expensive and intrusive.
A confronting film created by J Walter Thompson Sydney for Parkinson’s NSW takes centre stage in a campaign to raise awareness of Parkinson’s Disease, and prompt donations in the lead up to World Parkinson’s Day.
The emotional ad, titled The Lucky Ones, showcases one of the current "best" treatments Parkinson’s sufferers can go through, Deep Brain Stimulation, where the patient is awake throughout the entire surgery.
The film was directed by content and advertising director David Jagoda, himself a Parkinson’s sufferer, who underwent the exact operation six years ago.
J Walter Thompson Sydney ECD Simon Langley says the objective of the film is to "cut through", encouraging donations to help cure the debilitating, not well-known disease.
The Lucky Ones will launch across Facebook & Unruly and is supported by an additional hub website, with further video content and donation button.
