More than 85% of retail and fast-food worked are abused at work.
The new campaign, called No one Deserves a Serve, has been launched by Australian Unions to put an end to this abuse.
“Imagine going to work every day knowing you will probably be abused,” said SDA National Secretary Gerard Dwyer. “That’s the reality for thousands of Australian retail and fast food workers and it’s completely unacceptable, not just at Christmas but all year round.”
The ad, by Campaign Edge, follows the story of one female worked who is abused by a customer.
According to research, female workers cop the most abuse in the workplace and can also suffer from sexual abuse.
