Kogan has taken a cheeky swipe at public sector workers in a billboard activation near Canberra.
The ad says: ‘Work for the government? You’re probably stuck on an expensive mobile plan, but your family doesn’t need to be. Switch to Kogan.'
Founder Ruslan Kogan told AdNews the ad implies that too many people in large organisations “set and forget” their mobile plans rather than shopping around.
“We’re reminding people who may have this habit that if you shop around, there’s a lot of savings to be had,” he said.
When AdNews asked how he thought the government might react to the dig, Kogan said “sometimes we like to have a bit of fun with the right message”.
