Charity: Water and BuzzFeed cook up Tasty videos with a disturbing twist.

Did you know 663 million people around the world don't have access to clean water and dirty water kills more people each year than all types of violence?

Charity: water, an NGO dedicated to helping people access clean water, has teamed up with BuzzFeed and DigitasLBi to launch a campaign to help people understand the gravity of the situation.

The campaign features a series of recipe videos modelled on BuzzFeed's tasty video format and the #cleaneating Instagram trend.

Each recipe uses standard cooking ingredients and follows the usual step-by-step process, but with a twist – clean water is substituted with the types of contaminated water tragically used by 9% of the world's population.

You can learn how to make typhi superfood smoothies, hirundea-infused lemonade and anabaeana skillet cornbread. To ram home the dangers, some of the steps include: avoid skin contact when pouring the batter, add two drops of bleach to kill typhoid bacteria and serve with a stomach pump.
