The Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency have launched the "Shout out for climate change" campaign.
The campaign targets advertising and communications students around Australia asking them to produce an ad and communications campaign to inspire action against climate change.
Engagement and education specialists Willett Marketing developed the campaign which focuses on peer to peer communications and social media.
Tertiary students are being encouraged to enter with the first prize being a 4-6 week internship at Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide. The judging panel is made up of industry professionals, a climate change scientist, education and media specialists including Mike Daniels (MD, Ogilvy & Mather), Nick Cummins (CD, DDB Melbourne), Rosalind Willett (MP, Willett), Tanya Ha and Brooke Satchwell.
Entries will be available for viewing in an online gallery where viewers can vote in the People’s Choice Award category.
The campaign is being promoted in schools and tertiary institutions via social media, PR, direct mail and web presence, and was launched on May 17.
