NewsLifeMedia chief executive Sandra Hook has resigned after eight years with the company.

Hook confirmed that she is leaving to seek new challenges. Her replacement has yet to be announced.

She said in a statement: "I am proud of what we have achieved in that time, building Australia’s third largest magazine publisher, launching new digital brands and recently repositioning and rebranding the company as NewsLifeMedia.

"I leave the business transformed from a traditional magazine company to a multi-platform lifestyle content company that leads in most categories it competes in."

News Limited chief executive Kim Williams paid tribute to Hook saying: “I thank Sandra for the contribution she has made to the business since we acquired FPC Magazines five years ago. In that time she has not only moved our magazine business into a multimedia lifestyle division, but has also been a valued member of the News Limited leadership team.

“I, and everyone at News, wish her the all the very best in her future endeavours.”

Hook was group publishing director at FPC and became chief operating officer in the new management team at News Magazines when it acquired FPC Magazines in late 2006. She was appointed chief executive of News Magazines in 2008. The company rebranded as NewsLifeMedia in late 2011.
