Paspaley Pearls nabs new marketing head

EXCLUSIVE: Australian pearl company Paspaley Pearls has appointed former Omnicom-owned The Collaboratory senior vice president Lindsay Howard as its new head of marketing.

The appointment comes nearly two months after the company's former marketing manager, Sofia Llyod-Jones, left the business to head linen brand Sheridan's marketing operations.

Howard, who has since moved from America to Australia, most recently held the title of Omnicom senior vice president and global and regional solutions director of New York and Sydney respectively.

Prior to this, Howard led DraftFCB's New York operations as vice president and management director. She has also worked for The Concept Farm and DDB in New York.

The company engaged recruitment firm Hourigan International to assist with the process. Hourigan partner Damian Tynan spearheaded the placement.

Paspaley global retail general manager Richard Broug said: "Damian put forward some very impressive candidates. Lindsay was particularly relevant for the Paspaley business as she brings a nice mix of retail understanding, communications expertise across all channels, and is commercially astute."

"Paspaley, like most leading organisations, is not looking for one dimensional marketeers," he added.

"We need someone who brings good local and global experience across a range of functions, particularly as we have such a diversified business. To that end, Lindsay is a very impressive executive and we’re thrilled to have her on our team."

Howard has already started work with the company.
