Operative Media Inc. has appointed Dean Jenkins as its new general manager.
Jenkins has more than 15 years in the digital media industry and was most recently general manager for Melbourne-based Sensis Media Network.
The new appointment marks the advertising business management firm’s move towards global expansion, in which Jenkins will be responsible for developing Operative’s Australian business arm with particular focus on growing existing accounts and developing new business opportunities.
With Jenkins on board Operative plans to market and sell their suite of advertising business management solutions to Australian media companies including the Operative.One software platform and a range of technology-enabled services such as Ad Trafficking, Ad Serving and Campaign Management.
“Australia is one of the fastest growing media markets in the world and as the leading global provider of ad business management solutions it makes sense for Operative to establish a strong local presence,” Jenkins said.

With digital ad spend in Australia tipped to hit $3 billion by 2012, up from $2.27 billion in 2010, Operative CEO Mike Leo said the Australian market is providing plenty of new opportunities for expansion.
“We see significant opportunities to help Australian media companies streamline their business operations and reduce transaction costs, while providing valuable insights that can fuel innovation and deliver new revenue opportunities,” Leo said.
