EXCLUSIVE: OMD business director Aaron Quirk, who heads the Telstra account, is departing the agency after a two-year tenure.

OMD Sydney general manager Mark Jarrett confirmed Quirk's exit to AdNews. Quirk will be leaving OMD in three months time, and will be pairing with business director Simon Brockman on Telstra until his exit during the transition period.

Brockman joined the agency in January this year to head up the Allianz, Weight Watchers, Visa and Hasbro accounts. Jarrett said "in all likelihood", Brockman will take over the Telstra account, citing his previous experience with telcos.

Quirk returned to OMD two years ago, after a five-year stint with the agency in the mid-nineties. He has also worked for Carat in Australia and Mindshare in Singapore and London. Quirk also founded QM Inc, a channel planning consultancy.

AdNews understands Quirk will be joining a television broadcast network.
